The Vaad Hakohol runs this website for its Down Payment Assistance Fund. This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how we keep it safe.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and mobile number, so you can sign in and we can reach you.
  • What you tell us in your application: your household, income, savings, debts, the home you hope to buy, and why you need help.
  • The documents you upload, such as tax returns, pay stubs and bank statements.
  • A record of each sign-in and each time someone views your file, so we can show who saw what.

How we use it

  • Only to review your application, decide on help, pay approved help, and keep the records the law requires.
  • We never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • Office staff who handle your file, and the committee members chosen to review it. Committee members who have a conflict with your family step aside.
  • Every view of your documents is recorded.
  • Companies that run parts of this website for us (hosting, secure storage, email and text messages) handle your information only to provide that service.

Text messages

  • If you give us a mobile number, we text you sign-in codes and short notes that there is an update to see. Texts never include private details.
  • Message and data rates may apply. How often we text depends on your application; usually only a few texts a month.
  • Reply STOP to stop texts at any time, or HELP for help. You can also call the office.
  • We do not share your mobile number or your agreement to receive texts with anyone for their marketing.

How we keep it safe

  • The private parts of your application are encrypted, each application with its own key.
  • Documents are kept in private storage, checked for viruses, and opened only through short-lived links.
  • Staff and committee members sign in with a passkey or an authenticator app. We never store card or bank account numbers.

Questions or changes

  • Call the office to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to withdraw your application.
